| Fontana to race in Formula 3 |
18/12/09 - Corbetta Competizioni is delighted to announce that the Swiss driver Alex Fontana will take part in the Italian Formula 3 Championship.
After announcing Fontana as member of the official line-up of the team, confirmation is now arrived about the category he will be racing in (Formula Abarth was the alternative to Formula 3).
The Dallara F309 FPT belonging to Corbetta Competizioni has been presented last Tuesday at Cadro, Switzerland, at the presence of several fans of the young Swiss driver, in this occasion Fontana's move to F.3. has been officialized too.
Angelo Corbetta (Team Owner):
"We observed Fontana last year in F. Azzurra and afterwards we tested with him first at Varano and then on other important tracks (Mugello, Imola, Misano, Vallelunga in sequence), during these tests he scored several long runs to verify his physical and concentration capabilities and Alex amazed everyone. Despite his young age, he proved to be ready for the big leap. After the positive tests, we were both convinced and I am really happy to announce today that he will drive one of our F.3. single seaters. Finding an agreement in this moment allows us to prepare to the best during winter to face in the best possible way this big challenge that announces to be really exciting."
Advanced negotiations are in place for the other single seater. |
